Sun Country Bretons — Home of AKC Master Hunters

We grew up in Western Kansas in the '60s, when pheasants, ducks and geese were plentiful. Don was an avid upland game bird hunter and Linda often tagged along on hunts. With career moves came grouse and woodcock hunting in Minnesota and desert quail in Arizona, plus pheasant hunting trips to Kansas. Over the last four decades, we have owned and hunted with Labs, American Brittanys, an English Setter and finally, Epagneul Bretons.

In 1995, after researching several gun dog breeds, we purchased Sandi for our son's first hunting dog and our family's first Epagneul Breton. We were hooked! Sandi was a tremendous pheasant dog ... a tenacious bird finder, a solid natural retriever and a lovable addition to the family for fifteen years.

In 2004, our second EB, Tess, joined the family and sparked Don's interest in training and participating in field trial events as well as hunting. Mentoring under a professional trainer, Don gained expertise in gun dog training, specializing in the Epagneul Breton. After retirement from the corporate world and adding to our pack, we are living our dream of breeding, training, and enjoying life with our dogs and our family.

Our dogs spend lots of time in the field training and hunting, but when evening comes, they cuddle with us on the couch and dream of tomorrow's hunt.
